Lightning Protection Tower

The lightning protection tower is a tall steel structure used to protect buildings, power facilities, oil depots, chemical plants and other important facilities from lightning damage. A lightning rod at the top uses point discharge to attract lightning, safely conducting the current through the tower down conductor to the ground via the grounding system.
